Sat at the bar alone on a Tuesday night and got great service!
Kevin I think was his name?
Taller bald guy Steak was nice and bartender even recommended that I go with hall portion salad and asparagus side.
Thank you because it would of been huge!
Only thing I wish they had was single serve desserts because they were all huge, too huge for one.
Great selection of whiskey looked like as well!
I love this place, the menu is fabulous, steaks are delicious and deserts are to die for.
Seriously you can come here just for the read article selection and size.
My favorite is the carrot cake and chocolate cake.
They offer great bar seating if there's a wait to get a table.
This is the perfect.
This is one of our favorite date night locations.
We always do mussels, then Brussels and mashed potatoes with a medium rare porterhouse sliced in back!
Topped off with an espresso, complete!
My friend and I came here for a late dinner after attending a venue nearby.
The creamed spinach was so smooth which made it perfect as a spread on the bread.
I enjoyed the Hugo Garbage Salad as I did during my last visit.
And the chicken and crab was quite delicious.
Although we arrived just an hour before closing, our waiter, Mark, was very friendly and courteous.
At no time, did I feel rushed.
It was a perfect ending to a wonderful night out.
I had a business trip in the area and one of my suppliers took me to Hugo's Frog Bar.
First of all, major props to Joe at the bar.
Awesome bartender and he should and needs to be recognized.
The steaks were cooked perfectly and I would highly recommend the spicy calamari get it grilled instead of fried.
The brussels sprouts were excellent and yes, I know fries were great!
I would definitely go back!
The restaurant is on the pricey side but I thought it was worth it.
Though everything is on the saltier side for me, it was all pretty delicious!
I would recommend getting a salad and veggies because it can be quite heavy.
With that being said, let's get into it!
Bread and butter is always good and appreciated.
GET THE CHILI CALAMARI!!
I can't ever leave this place without ordering some.
It is that good.
Sweet, spicy, a little salty, perfectly crispy and calamari has a good bite to it.
Mussels were excellent but the bread it came with was as hard as a rock.
Tuna Tatare is alright.
There's just something about the tatare that is missing?
Perhaps some acidity would do the trick.
The chips were pretty crispy, they reminded me of pork rinds lol.
Lobster roll is pretty stinking good!
Good chunks of lobster sandwiched in a buttery slice of bread.
Brussel sprouts and the sautéed mushrooms had good flavor good sides to break up the heaviness Char grilled continue reading is so buttery good, cooked perfectly and sat on top of mouth watering garlic rice.
Whitefish is also a good choice if you're trying to stay on the lighter side.
Large enough as a meal for two.
Their slice of cakes are HUMONGOUS.
Coconut banana cake was like a coconut banana cream pie but in cake form.
The chocolate dark forest cake was my favorite.
Had it for my birthday, I think it was freshly made because the alcohol hadn't settled yet, so it was like eating a shot while drinking my mule.
Took the cake home and after the alcohol evaporated, I gorged on the rest of the cake with friends.
I want to order a whole cake for a party.
Can I do that?
Service is always attentive and nice!
This was by far one of the best meals we have eaten in the Check this out area- derive was outstanding Shushana took care of us and even brought us different sauces to try with our order.
We started with bread and Calimari- amazing flavors!
Then the crab cake appetizer- what a beautiful crab cake, the sauce was a little spicy- so she brought us some of the sweet chili sauce from the Calimari and we tried mixing it with hot pink mayo and that brought it up another notch!
My husband had the Chilean sea bass and the sweet potato with the maple bourbon butter- it was perfectly cooked and the miso butter and mushrooms were what took it over the top,I had the filet sliders and fries- heaven on a plate- the steak was cooked exactly as I ordered- medium rare and was seasoned perfectly- fries crisp and salted just enough- They didn't need any sauce or accompaniment - portions were generous and we took a bag to go as we couldn't finish it all.
I also had two French martinis- my husband had two old fashioned- mine were fabulous, very strong- his were with Makers Mark- his choice for old fashioned the first had a muddled Maraschino cherry- the next had the correct Amarena cherry, but it was not muddled- so they were ok.
We did not have room for dessert - such a shame Overall we loved it- service 5 Star- food 5 Star - drinks- close- we will return when we can - thanks Shushana for an excellent meal and the support staff- enjoy your next trip to WDW!
I have to say it's wonderful to have such a high end restaurant in the casino.
The manager, Stephen Morris is very professional and attentive to all the guests and you will feel welcomed from the beginning to the end of your time there.
The wait staff is exceptional and of course the food is outstanding.
Definitely a fun place to go for cocktails and appetizers after some time, before or after gambling, or just to go to as a destination place for a lovely dinner or lunch.
Keep up the great work Hugo Frogs it is totally appreciated!
And anybody who decides to do any gambling there I hope you win big!
We have been to Gibson's and Hugo's in the city many times, and this still had the feel of those places even though it's in a casino.
The server was very nice and the food was good with one exception.
My husband enjoyed his lobster roll and my friend loved her crab cakes but I really did not enjoy my dish.
I got the shrimp dejohne and it looked good and tasted good at first, but the shrimp had kind of a chlorine taste that was off putting.
I tried to get past it but ended up just eating some of it.
I mostly ate the river nile games egypt ancient potatoes which were delicious.
I think I maybe just got the wrong thing so I will try something else next time.
Don't be overly concerned about the rating.
Honestly, if not for one problem, it would have easily been 5 stars.
So, here is the deal.
This should NOT be listed with 3 dollar signs.
It's definitely more expensive and should be 4, easy.
Look at the menu and decide.
I didn't pay close enough attention to the menu, so the price at the restaurant was slightly more shocking.
The food itself is awesome.
In my opinion it's better than Capital Grille or Morton's.
The low rating is due to the dessert I ordered to take home.
It was the Macadamia Turtle Pie.
The waiter said he put ice in to keep it cold, and wrapped it in plastic.
Usually when I hear that I think of the item in a container by itself, on top of ice, and the whole thing in plastic to keep it from leaking out.
What I found was the ice being in with the pie.
The pie was wrapped in plastic.
Part of the ice had melted, completely destroying the pie.
This as one of the more expensive desserts.
And this one thing has definitely tainted my review.
If I'm going to review the food, it's the whole package that matters.
Steak is going to be my last meal request in case I'm given the chance to choose, whether I'm in prison, dying or something like that.
Ok that did not sound as nice as I wanted it to be.
Anyway, my point is I love a good piece of filet every now and then.
Hugo's, which is located inside the Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, delivered a solid filet.
The side of mashed potatoes was just as magnificent and same goes to the side of asparagus.
The Sea Bass was prepared and cooked simply but it was outstanding and tasty.
My jaw dropped when I saw how huge the cheesecake is, even when it was already cut in half.
It was the happy and yummy ending to the delicious dishes.
The main dining area has the regular tables in the middle, and booths by the walls on the side.
The place is dimly lit for dinner time, giving it a formal ambience, another typical for a nice steak house.
Our server was very friendly, helpful and attentive although she wasn't very helpful with our questions regarding their wine selections.
Had a hamburger, my wife had halibut.
Burger was way over salted, almost inedible.
Similar experience last visit.
Food not as good as Gibson's.
Should have went to Caddy shack.
I was asked if my wife was my daughter.
Not going back Been here many times.
Food and drinks are pricey of course.
But, also very good.
Service is always good as well.
I enjoy their cocktails and their food.
I've tried most of their menu items.
Be sure to try the frog legs.
Good price, and, tasty!
Free bread is good.
Crab cakes are good.
We went here before dinner time, late lunch.
There were not many people in the restaurant.
The service was on point.
Both waiters and chef came to check on us several times.
I have been here a few times to eat at the bar and at a table in the restaurant.
My favorite is to eat at the bar because their bartenders are very nice and super attentive.
I also like the bar menu.
I always order the filet sliders because they are always cooked perfect and I can actually finish the portion.
Everything on the menu is portioned pretty large in size.
I always think I will change it up and try something new but then my mouth waters for the sliders.
I would suggest going with a group of friends so that you can share and try lots of different things because it is all good.
Prices are reasonable for the superior quality of everything on the menu.
I have tried the Bookbinder's soup which is excellent and the Crabmeat Avocado but thought it was a little bit heavy on the mayonnaise.
This is an unexpected Gem.
The service was great and the food was even better.
I enjoyed the tomahawk ribeye with a delicious sweet potatoe and my guest had the sea bass that she was so happy to have ordered.
What can I say but a most go to while in the Rosemont area.
Don't hesitate and just do it, you won't be disappointed!
Came here for my grandma's birthday 2 weeks ago.
It was really difficult deciding between 4 and 5 stars for this restaurant, but ultimately I went with 4 for a few reasons.
Let's start with the negatives.
The inside is very dark.
It's not a huge complaint, but definitely makes reading the menu more difficult and the mood it creates contradicts the more upbeat casual experience for which most patrons come.
Second, the food was good, but not great enough to warrant the price, this could partly also depend on what I ordered though.
I had Australian lobster, which was enormous, but the meat was very rough in my opinion, for a lobster.
I had a side of mushrooms as well, which were alright but nothing special.
The cake we had, was banana with cream filling and chocolate sponge.
It was also rather mediocre, but then again I'm not a fan of chocolate cakes.
Now for the good.
My sweet potato was amazing.
It was perfectly cooked to where the skin easily came off without immediately mushing the potato.
The wine I ordered was excellent as well.
My wife had a filet mignon which we took home.
I finished go here the next day and Twin checks does cash river casino have to say it was one of the best filet mignon's I've had in years.
It was also towards the less pricey end on the menu.
I have mixed feelings about the lobster bisque, as I like mine to have chunks of lobster meat in it.
The lobster bisque we had here, was just cream, but despite that tasted great.
The portion sizes are also very generous.
The service is top notch.
Our waiter was very nice and had a great sense of humor.
The staff in general is professional and dressed to impress.
They know the menu well and make every effort to please the customer.
Flew in from Phoenix for a dinner meeting and chose this place because of reviews.
The steak was marginal, the seafood was over cooked and the wait staff was indifferent.
All around five stars.
Service is friendly, professional and attentive.
Must try's are the chicago cut bone in rib eye.
I am also a fan of the creamed spinach.
Don't be put off that it is located in the casino.
You can participate in that experience or not, and does not impact your meal The one positive thing I got out of my visit to Rivers Casino was getting to eat a late lunch at Hugo's in the bar area.
I've eaten at their location in Chicago so I knew the food was good.
Knowing we were going to dinner later, my husband and I decided to share the calamari app and steak sliders.
He also added on a potato we could have done without that it was just too much food.
The calamari was a unique take with it's sweet chili flavor and peppers added in.
This is quite possibly the best calamari I've ever had.
It wasnt overly breaded or greasy and that sweet chili was delicious.
The order of steak sliders came with 3 and fries.
They kindly split the sliders, without us asking, and gave us each our own plate with 1.
Steak was cooked perfectly and the fries were thin and crispy.
Great food, great service.
I'm glad I ended my visit to the casino on a high note by dining here.
My family and I of 11 came here for my mom's birthday a few days ago.
We had made a reservation at 7pm.
When we got there, the lady in the front told us that we had a reservation for only 9.
As good as it gets!
Kevin I think was his name?
Taller bald guy Steak was nice and bartender even recommended that I go with hall portion salad and asparagus side.

They kindly split the sliders, without us asking, and gave us each our own plate with 1.
Steak was cooked perfectly and the fries were thin and crispy.
Great food, great service.
I'm glad I ended my visit to the casino on a high note by dining here.
